Most homeschooling challenges have nothing to do with curriculum.
They’re about mindset, focus, emotional regulation, and helping children develop the inner confidence to learn, adapt, and grow.
Winning the game of life is 80% mindset.
I help your child cultivate the mental skills champions use:
Calm under pressure
Laser-sharp focus
Confidence and resilience
Emotional stability
A love of learning
To act like a champion, a child must think like a champion.
To think like a champion, they must train their mind like one.
Let me support you and your child in creating the mindset for success..
I homeschooled my seven children through every phase imaginable:
Bringing the traditional school model into the home
Unit studies
Delight-directed learning
And finally… the freedom of unschooling
My approach was always the same:
Character first.
Critical thinking second.
Academics third.
My children grew into thoughtful, capable, self-directed adults with deep curiosity and strong inner stability.
Many had very few friends growing up — not because they couldn’t make friends, but because they were thinkers, not followers.
I now help homeschooling parents and students develop confidence, consistency, mental stability, and emotional intelligence…
so learning becomes natural instead of stressful.
Homeschooling Journey: A conversation that helps you:
- Reduce overwhelm
- Choose an approach that fits your child
- Support emotional resilience
- Build confidence — in them and in yourself
- Break free from the pressure to “do it perfectly”
Your journey doesn’t have to be stressful.
You deserve clarity — and your child deserves a mind that thrives.

I was born and raised in the French speaking part of Switzerland, and came to the United States in 1979 after traveling through Europe, the Middle East and parts of Asia. I home-birthed and home-schooled 7 children, who are now grown, and flying with their own wings.
Diagnosed with skin cancer at the age of 15, with surgeries every 6 months, I learned the importance of food and cleansing which helped me out of this predicament.
Bedridden in my 30s, I realized that food therapy was not enough. I had to tackle mental fitness and emotional mastery.
I earned an ND-Naturopathic Doctor degree and a PhD in Natural Health, with a thesis on The Power of the Mind in Healing.
My children were raised with principles of natural health and personal excellence, and are AWESOME, in spite of a divorce and lengthy custody battle.
Whenever they hit challenges (and they do), they know how to bounce back.
Raising seven children while navigating health challenges, divorce,
and a long custody battle was not easy.
But it shaped a powerful truth:
When children grow up with emotional stability, mental fitness, personal accountability,
and freedom to follow their interests… they thrive in extraordinary ways.
Each of my children learned to:
- Think independently
- Solve problems creatively
- Bounce back from setbacks
- Pursue excellence in their own way
- Develop mastery in the areas they loved
- Cultivate discipline without pressure
- Build confidence from the inside out
They were known as The ALFA Team — Abundant Life Family Academy — a reflection of how we lived:
abundantly, intentionally, and with a deep respect for each child's unique gifts.
Below, you’ll meet each of them — now adults — and see what a mindset-driven, character-based homeschooling journey can create.
With a genius-level IQ and a photographic memory, Melody set her sights early on becoming a stunt woman — and achieved it, despite many saying it was impossible.
She performed in Western shows, jumping off galloping horses, twirling guns, throwing knives, cracking whips, and trick roping. Today, she is a 12-time world champion knife thrower and is working internationally to establish knife and axe throwing as an Olympic sport.
Melody also offers knife- and axe-throwing events in several states throughout the year.
These events are a fun and empowering way for people of all ages to learn:
- Focus
- Precision
- Confidence
- Mind–body coordination
Anyone interested in experiencing a unique activity that strengthens concentration and inner calm is welcome to reach out.
In her spare time, she also designs and creates custom, one-of-a-kind leather goods and produces stunning wedding cakes that showcase her creativity and precision.

Amy began working with leather in her teenage years, creating belts, purses, and other custom pieces.
As her skills grew, she started crafting knife sheaths… then knife handles… and eventually learned the full art and science of making knives herself.
In 2014, she turned her craft into a business, which quickly grew into a full-time profession.
After handling thousands of knives over the years — repairing, designing, and improving them — transitioning into knifemaking was a natural evolution.
Today, Amy is known for her precision workmanship, clean designs, and deep respect for traditional craftsmanship.
In her free time, she enjoys paragliding, embracing the same blend of courage and freedom that guides her creative work.
Evie Urbina captures what most of us never see — the quiet majesty of night, the hidden lives of wild creatures, and the raw beauty of landscapes far from the glare of civilization.
Her photography is not merely an art form — it’s an expedition.
Based in Colorado, she specializes in night sky, landscape and wildlife photography, forging a creative path where light meets darkness and stillness meets motion.
Her approach is relentless:
- Traversing remote terrain and climbing rugged peaks, she goes wherever the scene demands it.
- She seeks that elusive moment — a star-filled sky reflected off an alpine lake, a nocturnal creature in its world, the interplay of moonlight and mountains.
- Her mantra: “No distance too far, no terrain too rugged, and no challenge too daunting.”
Evie now shares her craft through on-site and online workshops, guiding others to see and photograph the wild night sky and the creatures that call the shadows home. Her work is a bridge — from wilderness to artwork, from solitude to connection.
When she’s not behind the lens, she finds grounding in her earthbound interests — tending her garden, especially her roses, balancing the wildness of the field with the calm of home.

A master gardener and natural outdoorswoman, Stephanie feels at home with trees, soil, and sky. She climbs trees to trim dead branches, clears land, and cuts and stacks firewood for warm winter nights.
If something is broken — from engines to equipment — she has a rare gift for diagnosing the problem quickly and fixing it with precision.
Stephanie also has a remarkable instinct for physical coordination and movement.
As a child, she would watch someone ride a bike and instantly understand the mechanics — then hop on without training wheels and ride off as if she’d been doing it for years. The same happened with kayaking: no lessons, no practice runs — she simply stepped in, figured out the rhythm of paddles intuitively, and navigated the water with natural ease.
She is also an event planner and is currently expanding her land to offer more outdoor spaces for gatherings, weddings, and the annual knife-throwing competitions.
Stephanie brings strength, ingenuity, and an uncanny, instinctive mastery of physical skills into everything she does.
Sophie has always lived with intention and boldness.
She set her sights on becoming a model — and she did.
She dreamed of traveling the world — and today she travels internationally as a flight attendant on private jets, living the adventure she once imagined.
Her journeys have taken her across continents and cultures:
- Riding a dromedary through the Moroccan desert
- Visiting India and China
- Wandering the streets of Moscow, Paris, and London
- Crossing through Switzerland and Italy
- Experiencing the modern marvels of Dubai and Abu Dhabi
- Standing before the timeless wonders of Egypt
Her experiences have shaped her into a confident, worldly young woman with a deep appreciation for beauty — in people, places, and cultures.
Sophie is also passionate about health and fitness, with strong knowledge in supplements, nutrition, exercise, and functional well-being.
Her life embodies a principle she learned early:
When you set your mind on a goal and take consistent action, the world opens in remarkable ways.

Christy is a dynamic businesswoman with a remarkable blend of strategic intelligence and hands-on skill. What began as fixing and flipping one house quickly grew into two… then three… then many more. Each project strengthened her ability to analyze markets, manage budgets, and transform properties with precision and vision.
She is not afraid of hard work — or heights.
Christy regularly climbs onto roofs to make repairs, assess structural needs, or oversee major projects. She knows when to hire the right specialists for electrical, plumbing, or engineering jobs, and she manages her teams with clarity, fairness, and strong leadership.
Her business now spans construction, real estate, property transformation, and long-term financial planning. She understands the full lifecycle of a project — from evaluating a distressed property to renovating it, selling it, reinvesting profits, and mapping out future growth.
One of the youngest women in the construction and property investment world, Christy succeeds because of her:
- Confidence
- Physical stamina
- Strategic planning
- Business intelligence
- Courage to tackle challenges directly
Her work requires muscles and grit, but also sharp thinking, organization, and the ability to see what others overlook.
Christy is proof that when you combine confidence with competence, you can build — quite literally — the life you want.
Eric has always approached life with determination, focus, and a natural instinct for precision. A skilled marksman from a young age, he trained others in safety, responsibility, and proper firearm handling at the store where he worked.
He later earned his welding diploma, developing the technical skill and discipline required for metalwork. His goal is to build and design custom projects for himself, his family, and future clients.
Eric is also a dwarf, yet he has never allowed his stature to limit his capability or ambition.
If anything, it amplified his resilience. When a task requires strength, ingenuity, or adaptability, he finds a way — and often outperforms expectations. Nothing seems to stop him.
Today he is expanding into one of the fastest-growing fields in the industry: robotic welding.
He not only mastered the technology — he now trains younger students in robotics and advanced welding techniques.
Eric combines:
- Technical intelligence
- Mechanical creativity
- Patience and precision
- A strong work ethic
- A refusal to be defined by limitations
He is a powerful example of how mindset — not circumstances — shapes what a person becomes.
